• Why a College Chatbot Should Say “I Don’t Know”A confident wrong answer about a fee or date does more harm than no answer. We argue a college chatbot should answer only from the college’s own documents, cite the page, say “I don’t know” when nothing matches and hand the question to the office with the full chat. Measure honesty, not just coverage.
• The College Helpdesk Problem Is the BrochureColleges blame the phone for admissions-week chaos, but repeated questions usually mean the brochure is buried, split, stale, ambiguous or missing a line. We argue for treating every student question as data about your documents and running a weekly loop: group repeats, fix the document, retire old versions.

• Guides

• College Student Enquiry Management: A GuideGood student enquiry management keeps one current set of official documents, retires old circulars, answers from the source with a citation, is available after hours, routes unanswered questions to the office with the full context, keeps a record and reviews unanswered questions weekly.
• College Chatbot Knowledge Base: A ChecklistA college chatbot’s knowledge base should start with the admission brochure, fee structure, academic calendar, recent circulars, hostel and transport information and office contacts. Keep only current versions, write full dates, name one person to upload new circulars and fill recurring gaps found in unanswered questions.
• WhatsApp Chatbot for College AdmissionsA WhatsApp chatbot for college admissions answers applicants’ questions on courses, documents, fees and dates on the college’s official number. Choose one that answers only from your documents with citations, replies in the student’s language, hands unknowns to the office with the full chat and is updated by uploading circulars.

• Playbooks

• Admissions Week Student Helpdesk: A PlaybookAn admissions week helpdesk playbook loads the new brochure, fees and circulars two weeks before, tests the most-asked questions, promotes the official WhatsApp number with QR codes, staffs a hand-off queue at peak hours and reviews unanswered questions weekly to decide which document to write next.

• Comparisons

• College WhatsApp Assistant vs Phone HelpdeskA phone helpdesk is personal but limited to office hours, one call at a time and staff memory. A WhatsApp assistant on the college’s official number answers at any hour in the student’s language from cited documents and hands hard cases to the office. Most colleges use both.
