Cookie policy
Every cookie and stored value this site uses, what it does and how long it lives. Nothing non-essential runs until you allow it.
How this site uses cookies and similar storage
We keep it short. Nothing non-essential is set until you decide in the banner, and your decision is recorded so we can prove it. We do not use advertising cookies and no third party sets cookies on these pages.
Strictly necessary — always on
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
aw_consent (cookie + local storage) | autowhat.ai | Remembers your privacy choices and the policy version you saw, so the banner does not reappear | 180 days |
aw_vid (local storage) | autowhat.ai | A random visitor id created on your first visit. It is the id written into your consent record so that you can later ask what was recorded. It is not shared with anyone and is only used for analytics if you allow analytics | Until you clear site data |
| Form token | autowhat.ai | Protects the enquiry form against automated abuse | Session |
Analytics — only with your consent
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
aw_sid (session storage) | autowhat.ai | Groups the pages you view in one visit into a session (30 minutes of inactivity ends it) | Browser tab session |
| Page-view events | autowhat.ai → console.autowhat.ai (our own server) | Page, referrer, device type, browser, clicks on buttons, scroll depth and time on page, tied to aw_vid. No fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking, IP address hashed with a daily-rotating salt | 400 days, then only daily totals |
Functional — only with your consent
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|---|
aw_chat (local storage) | autowhat.ai | Keeps your conversation with the site assistant on this device so it survives a page change | 7 days |
Third parties
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts (which sees your IP address and browser when the font file is requested; no cookies are set). Embedded maps in the footer are loaded from Google Maps with the “no cookies” embed. The site assistant sends the text of your conversation to our model provider; no cookie is set by them. The enquiry form is delivered by an email relay; it sets no cookies.
Managing cookies
Open Cookie settings to change or withdraw consent — the change applies immediately. You can also clear site data in your browser; the banner will then ask again. Browsers that send the Global Privacy Control signal keep analytics off unless you turn it on.
