FASTag and SIM Tracking for Hired Trucks.

Most manufacturer freight moves on hired trucks without a GPS device you control. Toll reads and consent-based SIM location fill the gap.

What this source gives the control tower

How SCM for Manufacturers reads it

FASTag toll reads and consent-based SIM location are rate-limited, retried from the log and cost-tracked per trip. Together with GPS, carrier APIs and manual updates they make five ping sources; a trip is Super Tracked only if it has a valid ping on every calendar day from billing to unloading.

Checks before anything goes live

All six sources land on one record per trip in SCM for Manufacturers: the ERP dispatch sheet, carrier MIS files, FASTag and SIM, GPS and carrier APIs, the gate handheld, and POD with reconciliation. Every conflict with what is already recorded waits for a person. See the control tower guide.

Questions

Can I track a hired truck without installing GPS?

Yes, approximately: FASTag toll reads and consent-based SIM location give positions on most days. Precision is lower than GPS, but coverage is wider.

What does Super Tracked mean?

A trip with at least one valid ping on every calendar day from billing to unloading, from any of the five sources.

See it on your own data. SCM for Manufacturers puts the plant gate, carriers, RDC stock, cold chain and OTIF on one control tower. Book a 30-minute working session with an engineer.
