Integration

GPS and Carrier Visibility API Integration.

Some carriers already run GPS or a visibility platform. The control tower should read it as it is, not ask them to change.

What this source gives the control tower

How SCM for Manufacturers reads it

Vehicle trackers and carrier visibility platforms are read through their APIs and filtered to the trip window. The ETA learns each truck’s real speed: with no pings it assumes 250 km/day; once pings arrive it uses the speed that truck has managed since billing.

Checks before anything goes live

All six sources land on one record per trip in SCM for Manufacturers: the ERP dispatch sheet, carrier MIS files, FASTag and SIM, GPS and carrier APIs, the gate handheld, and POD with reconciliation. Every conflict with what is already recorded waits for a person. See the control tower guide.

Questions

Do carriers have to change their GPS provider?

No. Their existing trackers and platforms are read as they are; FASTag, SIM and manual updates cover the rest.

How is ETA calculated from GPS?

From pending kilometres divided by the truck’s observed speed since billing, or 250 km/day when there are no pings yet.

See it on your own data. SCM for Manufacturers puts the plant gate, carriers, RDC stock, cold chain and OTIF on one control tower. Book a 30-minute working session with an engineer.
