AutoQC: guides, playbooks and tools.
Everything we have written about the problems AutoQC solves, in one place.
Blog posts
- Quality Control Should Block the Truck, Not File a ReportMost quality checks end in a report that is read after the goods have shipped. We argue a check is real only if it sits in the path of the goods, like a kitchen pass. AutoQC gives every piece one state; packing, labelling and loading all check it, and only “QC passed” lets a piece onto the truck.
- Write the Tolerance Down Before You Inspect AnythingQuality disputes are usually about an unwritten tolerance, not a measurement. Write a plus-or-minus per dimension on the spec, fix where and how it is measured, and treat labels as exact-match. AutoQC checks length and width to ± 1 cm, height at the barcode to ± 0.5 cm and the MRP label exactly, from four locked-order photos.
Guides
- OEM Quality Control: How Brands Check Partner OutputOEM quality control is how a brand checks that goods made by contract manufacturers meet its spec. Visits, lot sampling and partner sign-off leave most pieces unchecked. A scalable process gives each piece a barcode, captures photo evidence of measurements at the OEM line, lets brand QA decide remotely, and blocks packing and loading until a piece passes.
- Photo Evidence Quality Inspection: How It WorksPhoto evidence quality inspection records each check as a photo showing the measurement with the piece’s barcode in frame, taken in a fixed order and stamped with user, location and time. QA reviews remotely: pieces inside tolerance pass, pieces outside go back with a reason, doubtful pieces are held.
- Pre-Dispatch Inspection Checklist for OEM GoodsA pre-dispatch inspection checklist confirms each piece’s order and SKU, its own barcode, every dimension within tolerance, the label, photo evidence and a named reviewer’s decision, then enforces two gates: only passed pieces are packed, and a scan at the truck refuses anything that has not passed.
Playbooks
- Closing Customer Quality Disputes With EvidenceCustomer quality disputes become your word against theirs when nothing ties the shipped piece to a measurement. Give every piece a barcode, capture measurement and label photos at the line, record the reviewer and the truck, keep one evidence page per piece, and answer each complaint by looking up its barcode.
Comparisons
- Sample Inspection vs Every-Piece Photo QCSample inspection checks a sample of the lot and gives a lot-level report; a bad piece in a passed lot can still ship. Every-piece photo QC checks each piece with measurement photos reviewed remotely and blocks unpassed pieces at packing and loading. Sampling suits low-value volume goods; every-piece evidence suits dimension-critical, higher-value pieces.
