Guide · Inspection

Photo evidence quality inspection: a measurement you can see, not a tick in a box.

A checklist signed “OK” says nothing about the piece that shipped. A photo of the tape on the piece, with its barcode in the frame, does.

Photo evidence inspection records each quality check as a photo that shows the measurement and identifies the piece, so a reviewer can verify it later without being there.

What makes a photo count as evidence

A four-photo sequence for a dimensional product

PhotoWhat it showsChecked against
1. LengthTape along the length from the edgeSpec length and tolerance
2. WidthTape across the widthSpec width and tolerance
3. Height or thicknessMeasured where the barcode is fixed, both in frameSpec height and tolerance
4. LabelMRP, model, size and barcode on the packExact match with the SKU

Reviewing the evidence

  1. Pieces with every measurement inside tolerance can be passed together.
  2. Pieces outside tolerance go back to the line with a reason, to be remade or re-measured and re-shot.
  3. Doubtful pieces are held, so nobody can pack them until QA decides.

For where this fits in a wider partner process, see OEM quality control.

How AutoQC does it

AutoQC gives every piece one barcode, printed in bulk from the purchase order and stitched or fixed to the piece at the OEM unit. A QC photographer then takes four photos in a locked order (length, width, height at the barcode, and the MRP label on the pack) with the tape readable and the barcode in frame, guided in Hindi and English. Each measurement is checked against the spec and its tolerance. Brand QA reviews the evidence from anywhere and passes, sends back for redo with a reason, or holds the piece. Only a piece in the “QC passed” state can be packed, labelled or scanned onto the truck; anything else is refused at loading. Every photo is stamped with barcode, user, location and time, and each piece has a one-page evidence PDF with the PO, SKU, OEM unit, photographer, reviewer and dispatch truck.

Questions

What is photo evidence quality inspection?

Recording each quality check as a photo that shows the measurement and identifies the piece, so a reviewer can verify it remotely and later.

How do you stop inspection photos being reused or faked?

Require the piece’s barcode in every frame, a fixed photo order, in-app camera capture, and an automatic stamp of user, location and time.

Can photo inspection replace a QA visit?

For dimensional and label checks it lets QA review every piece remotely; visits remain useful for process audits.
