Truck Breakdown and SOS Response.

A breakdown at night on a highway puts the driver, the goods, the e-way bill and the customer’s promise at risk at the same time.

The problem

Breakdowns are reported by phone to whoever answers.

The rule that catches it

AR-10 alerts operations, management and maintenance in real time on a breakdown or SOS. Flow F-12 drafts a job card from the breakdown; Part-B and extension are handled in the e-way bill module.

The playbook

  1. Driver sends a breakdown or SOS on WhatsApp, with location.
  2. Alert operations, management and maintenance at once.
  3. Open a job card for the repair.
  4. If another vehicle takes over, update Part-B before the goods move.
  5. Tell the customer the new ETA.

How to measure it

Track time from SOS to response and breakdowns per 100,000 km by vehicle.

In SCM for Transporter, alerts go to the right role group on WhatsApp, deduplicated per window and grouped into digests, and every automation starts switched off for each company. Related: e-way bill Part-B and extension.

Questions

What should a driver do after a breakdown?

Report it with location immediately, keep the goods secure and wait for instructions; the office handles repair, Part-B and the customer.

Does a breakdown affect the e-way bill?

If the vehicle changes, Part-B must be updated; if the delay runs past validity, the bill must be extended within the allowed window.

See it on your own data. SCM for Transporter runs the bilty, e-way bill, trips, billing and accounts in one system. Book a 30-minute working session with an engineer.
