• The Product Master Matters More Than the 3D TwinA 3D warehouse twin is only as accurate as the product master behind it. In Warehouse OS every purchase list line is matched to SKU, packing, weight and zone before it counts, and mismatches are flagged, not guessed. Fix one row per SKU and packing, checked weights and real zones first; then the twin earns its place.
• Start Warehouse Software With the Step That HurtsSwitching on every warehouse step at once makes problems impossible to untangle. Start with the step that costs the most each cycle, usually the purchase list PDF or bag allocation, run a full cycle, then add modules. Warehouse OS writes every step to one record, so the box on the van still traces back to the purchase list line.

• Guides

• Purchase List PDF to Rows: Stop Retyping Each CycleTo turn a PDF purchase list into clean rows, read every row including merged columns, split quantities by hub, match each line to its SKU in the product master and flag mismatches instead of guessing. Check row counts and hub totals before the rows count as expected stock at the gate.
• Warehouse Putaway Rules: Where Each Item Should GoPutaway assigns each received item a zone and rack. For warehouses fulfilling many small orders, place stock by size and weight, keep fast movers near packing, keep product families in their own zones, respect expiry and record every move so pickers find stock from the record, not by walking.
• Choosing Bag Size by Order Weight Before PackingBag allocation by weight decides each order’s bag before packing: join the order lines with product weights, compare the order weight with each bag’s range, and assign a small bag, a large bag or a split, with rules for liquids and heavy items. Packers then pack instead of guessing.

• Playbooks

• Bag-to-Box Traceability: A Playbook for Lost BoxesBag-to-box traceability means every bag has a permanent barcode tag, every dispatch box has its own barcode, and one scan each links them with the route, van and member. When a box goes missing, its contents are rebuilt from the record instead of calling every member on the route.

• Comparisons

• Spreadsheets vs a Warehouse System for Small OrdersSpreadsheets work for a few orders at one location. For thousands of small orders across several hubs, a connected warehouse system reads the purchase list from the PDF, suggests putaway, allocates bags by weight before packing and scans every bag to its dispatch box. Start with the step that hurts most.
