01What it is

An AI agent for Mac, not another chat window.

A chatbot answers. Autowhat for Mac acts: it uses the apps already on your Mac the way you would, and shows you every step.

Autowhat for Mac is an AI agent for macOS by Autowhat AI. You tell it a task in one chat, by typing or dictation, and it completes the task by operating your Mac: it reads the screen through macOS accessibility, clicks and types, drives app menus, reads pages in Safari and Chrome, works with your files, and runs shell, Python and AppleScript when that is faster. It asks before anything paid or final, hands the Mac back to you for passwords, and pairs with Android X so phone-only work like WhatsApp, SMS and OTPs goes to your phone.

One chat

Say it once

Type a task or dictate it with on-device speech. Each task becomes a chat you can open, steer or run again.

Real apps

Works in the apps you already use

It reads the screen through macOS accessibility, clicks, types, uses menus and reads web pages, so it works in your own apps and sites.

Files and code

Files, shell and scripts

It finds, reads and writes files in your home folder and runs shell, Python or AppleScript when a script beats clicking.

You stay in charge

Take over at any moment

One Take over cuts its mouse and keyboard at once. Hand back with a note and it looks at the screen again before going on.

Phone and Mac

One agent across phone and Mac

Pair it with Android X. The Mac sends WhatsApp, SMS and OTP work to your phone; the phone sends desktop work to your Mac.

Safe by default

Asks before paying

Pay, place order, send and similar buttons wait for your OK, and it never types into a password field: it asks you to.

02The app

Six screens you will use every day.

A sidebar, one chat per task, a Dashboard that is your control room, and a small pad that floats over every app while you work.

One chat, every stepWhile a task runs, a working card shows each step and the agent's live view of the screen, then folds into the answer.
The DashboardTasks today, done rate, what is coming up and your agent fleet: this Mac and your linked phones.
A pad over every appClose the window and a small pad sticks to the screen edge with the live step, Stop and the queue. ⌘⇧Space from any app.
Passwords stay yoursWhen a password, code or CAPTCHA is needed, it hands the Mac to you and waits for Hand back.
Link your Android XPair a phone with a short code and a check code on both screens, and choose what it may ask your Mac to do.
What stays on your MacChats, tasks, memory, screenshots and files stay on the Mac. Only the work in hand leaves, to think, and is dropped.

03Live working card

You see the work, not a spinner.

Every task runs in its own chat. While it works, a card shows the app, the step it is on and its view of your screen; when done it folds into the answer with the time and the number of steps.

  • 01Talk to a running task. Type while it works: a message about the task joins it as a note; anything else waits its turn.
  • 02Stop at any time. One Stop, or ⌘. to stop everything, from the chat, the pad or the menu bar.
  • 03Run again. Any finished task can be run again in the same chat with one click.

04Mac + Android X

Your phone and your Mac, one agent family.

Autowhat for Mac and Android X share one account, one brain and one encrypted pairing relay. Link them once and each hands the other the work it does best.

  • 01Phone work goes to the phone. WhatsApp, SMS, OTPs, calls and mobile-only apps are sent to your Android X phone; the reply comes back into the Mac's chat.
  • 02Desktop work comes to the Mac. From Android X, ask your Mac to download a statement, fill a web form or sort a folder, and see the result on the phone.
  • 03End-to-end encrypted. Messages between your devices are encrypted on one and opened on the other; the server only carries ciphertext.
  • 04Your rules per device. Mark a phone as your own device, or let family and staff phones ask questions only, or run tasks with your OK.

05Take over

Your Mac stays yours, even mid-task.

Take over from the chat, the pad, the menu bar or by simply using your mouse: the agent's hands stop at once and everything reads “You're in control” until you hand back.

  • 01Never types your password. Before a password field it hands the Mac to you: “Type your password in Safari, then hand back.”
  • 02Codes, CAPTCHAs and Touch ID. Anything only you can do, it asks for by name and waits.
  • 03Fresh eyes after a hand back. It looks at the screen again, so nothing planned before you took over runs blind.

06The pad

Keep working. It keeps you posted.

When the window is away, a small pad sticks to the edge of the screen with the live orb and the current step. Click it for the queue, approvals and recent results; hold it to talk.

  • 01Never in the agent's way. The agent cannot see the pad and its clicks pass straight through it.
  • 02Approvals in place. Allow or Decline a request from a linked phone without opening the window.
  • 03⌘⇧Space from any app. Give a new task without leaving what you are doing.

What an AI agent for Mac does, what it can see, and how it works with your phone.

What is Autowhat for Mac?

Autowhat for Mac is an AI agent for macOS by Autowhat AI. You tell it a task by typing or dictation, and it completes the task by using the apps, browser and files on your Mac, then reports what it did.

What is an AI agent for Mac?

An AI agent for Mac is an app that completes a task you describe by operating other apps for you: it reads the screen, clicks, types and uses menus, instead of only answering in a chat window.

How does it work with Android X?

Both apps use the same Autowhat account and an end-to-end encrypted pairing relay. Once you link them, the Mac sends phone-only work such as WhatsApp, SMS, OTPs and calls to your Android X phone, and the phone can send desktop work to your Mac.

Does it type my passwords?

No. Before typing into a password field, or when a code, CAPTCHA or Touch ID is needed, it hands the Mac to you and waits until you hand back.

Will it pay or send things without asking?

No. Buttons such as Pay, Place order, Buy now, Send and Transfer wait for your OK before it clicks them.

What stays on my Mac?

What permissions does it need?

Accessibility so it can click and type, and Screen Recording so it can look at the screen. Automation for AppleScript and Microphone for dictation are optional.

Which Macs does it run on?
