How it is calculated

Total km = loaded km × (1 + empty return %). Diesel = total km ÷ mileage × price. Margin = freight − diesel − tolls − driver − other. “If back-loaded” removes the empty return’s diesel. Vehicle EMI, insurance and maintenance are not included; add them per km for a full view. Read lane profitability.

Questions

How do I calculate profit on a truck trip?

Freight minus diesel (including the empty return), tolls, driver cost and other trip expenses.

Why include the empty return?

Because the truck burns diesel coming back; leaving it out makes one-way lanes look more profitable than they are.
